We have moved to Princeton, NJ with a mercantile and full service tea room!
The original Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary was quietly nestled in the bustling Virginia Highland neighborhood of metro Atlanta that served afternoon tea featuring our housemade scones, light lunch bites and after dinner dessert in an antique filled modern urban oasis.
THEN…
Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary opened in July 2015 and was imagined as the ultimate urban escape. The eclectic but cozy vintage and antique filled parlor served over 140 teas and tisanes, afternoon tea, housemade light bites for lunch, a wide array of locally made desserts and Doria's sweet and savory scones.
With a focus on whole body wellness and self care, the apothecary/retail space houses handmade and Tipple + Rose's housemade small batch bath and body products, tea making accessories, small hostess gifts and mercantile, artisanal foodstuffs, organic bulk herbs and spices and over 15 kinds of honey making Tipple the perfect place to pick up a gift for friends, family, and colleagues or…just a little something for yourself!
The one of a kind tea sniffing bar allows you the time and space to revel in your senses and choose the perfect blend to purchase by the ounce and enjoy at home.
In April 2018, the shop was ranked third in the US by Travel + Leisure and number one in the city of Atlanta by EATER Atlanta for our afternoon tea service. We were also tapped to cater for a Virgin Atlantic/Delta Airlines event with both Richard Branson and Delta CEO Ed Bastian in attendance.
In January 2019, Doria was one of only three business owners asked to represent VISA’s global “She’s Next” campaign launch and has gone on to collaborate with national brands like Birchbox, Athleta, and Allied Global Marketing where we hosted the official themed tea parties to celebrate the cinematic releases for Downton Abbey, the new Mary Poppins, The Fantastic Beasts/Harry Potter franchise, Alice in Wonderland’s Through the Looking Glass, Frozen2, Oprah Winfrey produced “A Wrinkle in Time” and more. The shop also served as the filming location for TV shows on Bravo and WeTV with celebrity guests Toni Braxton, Tamar Braxton, Kenya Moore, and Phaedra Parks.
In the midst of all the accolades, we implemented our sustainable business awareness project The Green Tea Initiative and raised over $6,000 for the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper through a special afternoon tea event at Laura Turner Seydel’s EcoManor and the sale of our chariTEA blend “The River’s Bend Blend”.
NOW…
With a family illness forcing an unexpected relocation in December 2019 (just six months shy of our 5th Anniversary) and a worldwide pandemic thwarting plans for our reopening in New Jersey, Tipple + Rose has changed course just a bit…
To “wait out” the pandemic, we opened a “tea emporium” along the historic main street village of Pennington, NJ in February 2021 and offered a wide array of tea brewing accessories, bath/body products, homesteading supplies, cozy accoutrements to complement your tea drinking experience at home, and, of course, our loose leaf and whole leaf teas!
We have recently acquired space in Princeton, NJ and have resumed afternoon tea service and daily tea service along with our retail gift shop.

FAQ
WHAT IS HIGH TEA?
First, “High Tea” is a bit of a misnomer.
The tea time Americans call “High Tea” is properly known as Afternoon Tea in Britain where it originated (or in France depending on who you ask!). High Tea is actually a late day meal or “supper” served at a high (tall) table and was mostly enjoyed by the working class.
Afternoon Tea is also sometimes called “Low Tea” because it’s served at a low (short) table and it mostly enjoyed by the upper class. Perfectly confusing!
The ritual of Afternoon Tea has been around since the 19th century and is a cultured mid day meal taken with tea.
Our afternoon tea service includes:
SAVORIES Traditional tea sandwiches like cucumber arugula boursin, egg salad or smoked salmon, boursin and arugula. However, we have seven different menus so please check the Afternoon Tea Menu Page for all choices.
SCONES served with authentic clotted cream, jam, and housemate lemon curd
SWEETS like macarons, tartlettes and fresh fruit
DIGESTIV of local sorbet and sparkling drink
CHOICE OF TEA We have a selection of over 140 teas and tisanes to choose from.
It is all served on a three tiered cake stand with vintage fine china, glassware, and table linens.
Our scones, pastry cream, lemon curd, and finger sandwiches are all housemade.
WHEN IS AFTERNOON TEA SERVED?
Even though traditional time frame for Afternoon Tea is 2:30-5:30pm, but we serve Tuesday through Sunday 12:00pm-4:00pm.
DO YOU HAVE PRIVATE ROOMS?

CAN I JUST COME IN AND HAVE A POT OF TEA, SCONE, AND SOME FOOD WITHOUT A RESERVATION?
